Wide Open Spaces plays “bluegrass without borders.” Combining
the traditional sounds of fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitars, and bass
with modern song writing, jazzy rock-edged arrangements, and
tight three-part harmonies, they take audiences on a musical joy
ride that has some people saying: “I can’t believe that’s
bluegrass!” Anything can happen – and usually does.
The Spaces draw their inspiration from a broad palette which
includes Alison Krauss, Billy Strings, Doyle Lawson, Jimmy
Buffet, and the Beatles. Their debut CD “Fiddletown” includes
thirteen of the band’s original compositions. As long-time campers
and performers at both the Ossipee Valley and Thomas Point
Bluegrass festivals, they look forward to bringing their good-
humored musical alchemy and washboard-tapping fireworks to
Crooked River’s inauguration.
